PGA, also known as polyglycolic acid or polyglycolic acid,is a highly crystalline, rapidly biodegradable linear aliphatic polyester.
Application
We sell really good PGA Ball Dissolving Frac Balls (the kind that breaks down and blocks stuff temporarily) and we ship them fast. These balls are made for blocking zones temporarily during fracking work, and they break down at the right speed while handling lots of pressure.
What's special about them:
What they're made of: Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) – breaks down naturally
How long they last: You can adjust it (anywhere from hours to days depending on what's happening down there)
How much pressure they handle: Up to 10,000 psi (we can make them stronger if your well needs it)
How big they are: 0.5 to 5 inches across (standard sizes, or we can make custom ones)
How they dissolve: They break down in water/salt water and don't leave anything behind
Safety stuff & what works with them:
They're not toxic and good for the environment, and they meet all those API/ISO rules for downhole tools.
Just don't store them with strong acids or stuff that oxidizes them, or they might start breaking down too early.
They stay solid in oil-based fluids but break down pretty quick in water-based stuff.
